The village is located 41 kilometers southeast of Bratislava, and 7 kilometers west of Dunajská Streda in the Trnava region, in the Dunajská Streda district. It is adjacent to Velký Blahov to the east, Vieska to the south, and Michal na Ostrove to the west. The northern border of the Orechová Potôň and Dolná Potôň cadastre is formed by the river Little Danube.

The coat of arms of the village of Orechová Potôň was entered in the Heraldic Register of the Slovak Republic on July 9, 2008 under the file reg. no. O-84/2008 as follows: a red shield with a silver wavy stripe there is an interlaced green trefoil from which grows a silver walnut tree with three five-leafed branches and golden nuts.
